Sunday, May 29 is the big one, the Saskatchewan Marathon put on by the Saskatoon Road Runners. Learn all about it and register on line at http://www.saskmarathon.ca/ . I understand the course will be similar to last years. I know I enjoyed the half marathon course including the uphill section at the end. If you aren’t running in any of the events please consider volunteering, your help would be greatly appreciated.
Sunday, June 5 our friends at Bike Doctor and the Saskatoon Triathlon Club bring you Moe’s Triathlon. This is a good triathlon for beginners and experienced triathletes as well. It is held at the Shaw Centre and the surrounding grounds. Last year was it’s first time there and it turned out really good. It was a warm and sunny day, remember those?
Saturday, June 11at 8AM is the 6th annual Saltcoats Salamander Walk/ Run. The money that is raised from the race goes to support the day care centre in Saltcoats as well as the Saltcoats Regional Park. The route for the course is a beautiful loop around a natural lake with a circumference of 6k. Thus the events are 6k, 12k or half marathon. The surface is some pavement, some gravel road (but well graded to get rid of the gravel) and a country lane. The hospitality is small town friendly and the low price of $30 includes a T shirt if you register in time, a snack after the race and a full BBQ at noon. Lots of door prizes are also available. Saltcoats is 15 mins SE of Yorkton. There is an optional 800 meter swim in the lake to start the race but do not feel obliged to do the swim. The race is for all ages and speeds. Come and relax and enjoy a walk or a run with friends. Our website registration can be found at

Just a heads up that the SRRA has been plotting some trail running events and Peter Goode sends this message out; “Hi everyone. The tentative date for the first SRRA trail race is July 23rd. This will have 3k, 6k and 9k events. The second race will be in early October and have 5k, 10k and 15k events.”

EXERTIONAL HEADACHES
Brad Spokes is an exceptional resource to BRAINSPORT and the running/triathlon community. Brad is a Physiotherapist at Zone Sports Physiotherapy and a big reason our clinics are so successful. If you’ve taken any of our clinics you will no doubt have benefitted from his input and advice.
Brad is going to add some topics of interest every once in a while to the TIMES. This week’s article is on Exertional Headaches which was prompted by a question from one of our clinic participants. Here is a link to the article and I’ve added the link on our Ask An Expert page of our website for future reference.
